PREVIEW -
With the new capabilites on Gameboy Advance, there is no way Rare is holding back. With at least four other games in development, Gameboy Advance's future with Rare looks great.
This game is kind of a spin-off of the plane racing mode in Diddy Kong Racing for the Nintendo 64. This game may look a lot like Mario Kart, and Konami Krazy Racers but it offers a lot more each of those. You get to choose from one of seven characters, with their own special attributes, such as being super fast but heavy and clumsy, and some will be smaller and lighter with great handling but not very good acceleration. You will try and get gold cups on different tracks in the game and each character will have it's own story that folds out as you go along. With the power of the link cable you will be able to link up with friends and race to see who is the fastest. Rare is also working on a battle mode, where you can duel it out with friends.
The game will contain a chip, like the one used in Kirby's Tilt n' Tumble. The chip has a motion sensor in it. If you tilt the Gameboy left, right, up, or down then the character turns in that direction. IF you get sick of the tilting, (like many did in Kirby's Tilt n' Tumble) Rare is inluding a Directional Pad option.
With the date set somewhere in December, 2001, Diddy Kong Pilot, with it's great graphics, depth, and innovative controls, it is shaping up to become an excellent flyer.
